Early on in his career, Franco Molinari played classical music in his native Italy with mainly symphonic and chamber orchestras (Orchestra da camera Accademia Santa Cecilia di Roma, la Orchestra da Camera di Trieste y la Orchestra Filarmónica del Friuli Venezia-Giulia).
He then moved to Spain in 1997 and expanded his realm of music.
Since then, Molinari lives in Barcelona , where he divides his professional life between being a musician and teaching in various conservatories and schools.
In 2003 he recorded under the Ventilador label, Flaugier Sin Numero with the multi-ethnic group Nébeda (Afro-Balcan-Celtic based music) of whom he is the founder and composer.
Molinari also plays in various Flamenco bands, including collaborations with guitarist and composer Jaime Basulto in the group El Paño Moruno.
Since 2003, he became a part of the Barcelona theatre ensemble Balandrau, as composer and musician performing throughout Spain and Europe.
Currently, he collaborates with la Orquesta Simfónica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya, la Orquesta Simfònica del Vallés, the contemporary Zaragoza-based musical group Enigma and Nébeda.
Molinari is the founding bass player and does secondary percussion for Mashalá!.
